School social workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, academic and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators as well as provide individual and group counseling/theraphy. School social workers are always willing to help students who are experiencing any concerns or problems related to school, home, family, friends, or whatever the concern may be. Additionally, school social workers help in crisis situations including abuse, and threat or actual physical harm to self or others.
